The Destin High Sharks’ baseball team lost on the road Monday night to the South Walton Seahawks, 10-0, but not without putting up a fight.
“I’m really proud of the way they competed tonight,” said Destin Coach Shawn Brasher.

More students means more classrooms and teachers for Destin High next year
After decades of thinking it would never happen, Destin High School opened its doors in August of 2021 with 300 students. And now it looks as though they will have an additional 150 students for the 2022-23 year.
But with more students comes the need for more classrooms and teachers.
“We’re predicting 450 to 475 next year,” said Destin High Principal Christine Cruickshank as she sat in her office earlier this week.

The Destin High Sharks played their last home basketball game of the season Thursday evening and posted a 66-42 victory over the visiting Calvary Christian Academy Patriots for the home crowd at Destin United Methodist Church Family Life Center.
The win gave the Sharks, the new team in town, a 9-14 mark on the season.

Applications now available for prospective students at Destin High

About 100 students and parents came out Wednesday night for the Information Session/Showcase at Destin High School. This was the second information session of this type for the school. The other was held on Jan. 11 where about 60 applications were picked up.
